SHILOH – Betty J. (Bear) Quickel, 80, Shiloh, passed away at 11:20 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late William H. Quickel, Jr who passed away on March 16, 2012.
Betty was born September 11, 1937 in York and was the daughter of the late Fred and Nellie (Hooper) Bear.
In 1955 she graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester. She also graduated from York College and Penn State in York. She was a Corporate Radio Manager and Controller for Susquehanna Broadcasting and a Business Manager for WPMT TV. She was a member of the American Business Women Association and St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf.
Betty is survived by her three sons, Troy Stine and his wife Marina of Spring Mills, PA, William Quickel, III and his companion Michelle McNew of Dover and Kevin Quickel of AR; two daughters, Cyndy Mueller of East Berlin and Jennifer Mulder of Dover; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her sister Jean Grim.
Her funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church, Third and Center Streets, Mount Wolf. Viewings will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Diehl Funeral Home, Mount Wolf and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. John Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Quickel Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be her pastor, Reverend Jason Northridge.
