Edward M. Gingerich

MOUNT WOLF – Edward M. Gingerich, 95 of Mount Wolf, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Claremont Nursing Home in Carlisle. He was the husband of the late Ruth E. (Musser) Gingerich who passed away on February 19, 2009.

Mr. Gingerich was born May 23, 1922 in Starview, East Manchester Township, York County and was the son of the late Marvin and Mable (Houston) Gingerich.
He worked for York International for over 35 years before retiring in 1984. He was a member of the Mount Wolf Fish and Game and the York Rifleman Association. Edward proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the 104th Infantry Timberwolves. He was the recipient of a Bronze Star.

Mr. Gingerich is survived by his son, Mark Gingerich of Mount Wolf; his daughter, Deborah Sundy and her husband Scott of Lewisberry; two grandchildren, Samuel and Isaac; two great grandchildren, Thaddeus and Remi and his sister, Eloise Leicht of York. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Clair Gingerich, Carl Gingerich, and Stewart Gingerich and his sister, Mary Brenneman.

His funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be the Reverend Arun Andrews . York County Veterans will provide honors at the graveside.
