BAINBRIDGE – Joan L. (Shuman) Gable, 76, of Bainbridge, passed away at 5:30 PM, Friday, May 25, 2018, at Manor Care Elizabethtown. She was the wife of the late Charles A. Gable, Jr.

Joan was born January 23, 1942, in Columbia, PA., and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Reba (Ortman) Shuman.

She attended Donegal High School in Mount Joy, PA. She was employed by AMP, Inc ., as a scheduler for many years before retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Bainbridge.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Joanne M. Marrs of Mount Wolf; her two sons, John E. Gable of Lebanon, PA and James C. Gable of Aspers, PA, and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Gable. III and her sister, Theresa Runkle.

There will be a visitation time with the family beginning at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 4, 2018, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 106 North Second Street, Bainbridge, PA. Her memorial service will begin at 11:00 AM, with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be private. Officiating at the service will be her pastor Reverend Emily Styer from St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

Your mom was loving and kind and easy to tell what a great mom she was! A welcoming hostess always- a great part of life in Bainbridge.
