John Kellett

MOUNT WOLF – John Kellett, 76, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 3:45 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at his home. He was the husband of Josephine (DeStephano) Kellett whom he married 54 years ago on July 6, 1963.

John was born April 19, 1941 in Philadelphia and was the son of the late John and Genevieve (Schaeffer) Kellett.

He graduated in 1958 from Father Judge High School in Philadelphia. He worked for over 30 years with Publicker and later the City of York and retired from York Mold. He was a member of Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf, Vigilant Club, Guantanamo Bay Veterans Association, American Legion Shelton, CT Post 16 and Holy Infant Catholic Church in Manchester. John proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era.

In addition to his wife, Josephine, John is survived by his two sons, Thomas Kellett and his wife Marie of East York, Michael Kellett and his wife Cathi of Shelton, CT; his daughter, Mary Jane Kramer of Manchester; 11 grandchildren, and his two sisters, Jeannie Drach and Margaret Grogan both of Philadelphia. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis Kellett and his two sisters, Catherine Miller and Mary Jane Kellett.

His memorial Mass will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 553 Conewago Creek Road, Manchester. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be private in Fort Indiantown Gap Military Cemetery. Officiating at Mass will be his pastor Reverend Mark Weiss. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors following the mass at the church.
