YORK – Kenneth W. Lauer, Jr., 83, of York, passed away at 5:45 AM, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at The Brunswick at Longstown. He was the husband of Phyllis (Bupp) Lauer of York to whom he was married to for 64 years.
Kenneth was born August 3, 1933 in York and was the son of the late Kenneth W. Laurer, Sr., and Fairy (Hoskins) Myers.
He was employed as a Tool and Die Maker for over 38 years before retiring in 1999 from Harley Davidson Motor Company in York. He was previously employed by AMF and the Naval Ordnance Plant in York. He was a lifetime member of the Hawks Gunning Club in York and a member of the Starview Sportsman Association in Mount Wolf and was a former member of Quickels Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, Kenneth is survived by his two sons, Rick Lauer of Wrightsville and Michael Lauer and wife Kelly of York; 2 grandchildren, Ashley Donnelly and Rebecca Lauer; 1 great grandchild and his brother, Richard Lauer of York.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Entombment will be private in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating at the graveside service will be Reverend Laura Bair
