YORK – Surrounded by her loving family, Linda Ferree passed away on August 22nd, 2018 at the age of 69. She was born January 30, 1949 in York, Pa, the daughter of George and Gladys Grove.
Linda will be remembered for her intelligence, quiet strength, unwavering courage, love of laughter, and boundless devotion to her family. She attended Kennard-Dale High School until her senior year where she graduated from York Suburban in 1967. She began her career as a computer programmer in 1968 working for Maple Press where she would eventually meet the love of her life, John Ferree. After taking thirteen years off to raise her three children, she returned to work developing brilliant systems until her retirement in 2015. The years that followed were spent traveling, getting lost in her favorite television sitcoms and dramas, eating as many slices of pizza as she could and enjoying time with her family and friends whenever possible.
Linda is survived by her husband of forty-five years John, her children Marc, Eric, and Nicole and their spouses Diane, April, and Mike, her grandchildren Morgan, Rachel, Matt and Millie, her father George Grove, her sister Pat Fritz and her loyal companion Tucker.
The family wishes to thank all of those who sent well wishes and cared for her during her ten year fight against cancer. A celebration of life will be held at Diehl Funeral Home at 87 South Main Street, Mt. Wolf, Pa. on Saturday, August 25th. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am with services to follow at 10:00 am. A private burial will follow.
