Lloyd E. Platts, Jr.

Lloyd E. “Dutch” Platts, Jr., 69, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 8:59 AM, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Anne (Kunkle) Platts whom he married 36 years ago on June 25, 1982.

Lloyd was born April 14, 1949, in York and was the son of the Blandine (Morris) Schriver of York and the late Lloyd E. Platts, Sr.

He attended Northeastern High School in Manchester. He worked for over 30 years for Quigley Motor Company in Manchester before retiring in 2015. He was a member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church in Pleasureville. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Lloyd enjoyed driving his hot rod, car shows, and Penn State Football. What he loved the most was spending time with his friends, family and the light of his life, his granddaughter, Kenli.

In addition to his mother, and wife, Anne, Lloyd is survived by his son, Michael G. Platts of York; his two daughters, Laura Platts of Mount Wolf and Emily Platts of York; 1 granddaughter, Kenli Rieger; his two brothers, Rodney Schriver and his wife, Mary of New Jersey, and Wyatt Platts and his wife, Diane of York, and his three, sisters, Darlene Miller of York, and Brenda Garver and her husband Ronald of York and Sandra White and her husband, John of Dover. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Schriver, Jr.

His funeral service will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Officiating at the service will be the Reverend Philip K. Nace. Military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.

Brother I love you and I sure am going to miss you buddy all the good times we have had working on each other’s cars tormenting each other about Fords and Chevys I sure am going to miss that I love you you were such a god providing person sending God’s word you are so amazing I’m glad you’re home now you’re out of pain love you and miss you
