MANCHESTER – Lois A. (Smith) Leonard, 62, of Manchester, passed away at 5:02 PM, Friday, April 21, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of Dave Leonard of Manchester whom she married 27 years ago on August 3, 1989.
Lois was born August 3, 1954 in York and was the daughter of Freeman and Ruth (Mansberger) Smith of Mount Wolf.
She owned and operated Leonard’s Automotive Sales and Service in Manchester before retiring from the business in 2009. Lois was also employed by PADE in Strinestown. She served as a Conewago Township Supervisor from 2006 to 2011 and also served on the Conewago Township Sewer Authority. She was a member of Cross Words Church, formerly Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, in Pleasant Grove.
In addition to her husband, Dave, Lois is survived by her two daughters, Lori Frank of Manchester and Tonya Pyles of East Prospect; her three sons, Michael Leonard of York, Corey Barto of AL, and Matthew Leonard of Orwigsburg; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; her sister, Deb Groff of Lewisberry, and her three brothers, Randy Smith of York, Warren Smith of Manchester and Richard Smith of Dover. Lois was preceded in death by her son Shawn Barto.
Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at Cross Words Church, 850 Pleasant Grove Road, York Haven. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Tri County Memorial Gardens in Lewisberry. Officiating at the service will be Gary Zortman.
