MANCHESTER – Lois E. (Brothers) Stambaugh, 79, of Manchester, passed away at 5:15 PM, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Morrell L. Stambaugh who passed away on May 14, 2016.
Lois was born April 15, 1939, in York and was the daughter of the late Edward, Sr. and Beatrice (Snyder) Brothers.
In 1956 she graduated from Manchester High School in Manchester. She enjoyed being a homemaker for her family and a Teachers Aide with Manchester Elementary School in Manchester. She was a member of the Starview Farm Womens Group; Northeastern Senior Center in Mount Wolf, and Quickels Evangelical Lutheran Church, York. Lois enjoyed cooking, baking, and was considered a great chef. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, boating and playing rummy cubes with friends.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Dorie Baney of Spring Grove, Cindy Shellenberger and her husband Tim of Myrtle Beach, SC; her son, Scott Stambaugh of Spring Grove; her granddaughter, Ashley Clemens; her two sisters, Janet Norman of Liberty, PA and Karen Wachter of Mountville, PA, and her brother, Edward Brothers, Jr. of York. She was preceded in death by her son-in-law Len Baney.
Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 13, 2018, at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York Township. Officiating at the service will be Katrina Holland, interim pastor at Quickels Evangelical Lutheran Church.
