MOUNT WOLF – Stanley I. Yost, 87, of Mount Wolf, passed away at 2:12 AM, Sunday, April 23, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Lorraine (Heiner) Yost whom he married 66 years ago on December 2, 1950.
Stanley was born August 28, 1929 in York and was the son of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Naylor) Yost.
He graduated in 1948 from William Penn High School in York. He was employed by the former Allis Chalmers and retired in 1992 from Voith Hydro in York. Stanley proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his wife, Lorraine, Stanley is survived by his son, Stanley Yost, II and his wife Carol of East Berlin; his three daughters, Joan Clark and her husband Enslie of Dover, Stephanie Stoner and her husband Mark of Manchester, and Mary Walters and her husband Richard of Mechanicsburg; 9 grandchildren, Paul, Andrew, Rachel, Craig, Melissa, Seth, Shawn, Ricky and Karie; 26 great grandchildren, and his sister, Maryanne Yost of Bradenton, Fl. Stanley was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Yost, and his four sisters, Delores Sechrist, Rae Smith, Tina Branson and Rita Sier.
His funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide full military honors at the graveside service. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Greg Wahlberg from Calvary Baptist Church in York.
