Thomas Eugene Krout

YORK HAVEN – Thomas Eugene Krout, 91, of York Haven, passed away at 11:05 PM, Thursday, October 25, 2018, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Ramona (Connelly) Krout whom he married 65 years ago on March 14, 1953.

Mr. Krout was born June 25, 1927, in York Haven and was the son of the late Curvin and Marie (Helfrich) Krout. Thomas was a lifelong resident of York Haven.

He attended York Catholic High School and was a member of the class of 1945. He retired from York Enterprises and previously was employed by York BarBell and International Paper Company in York Haven. He was a charter member of York Haven Hunting Club in Lycoming County; a member of the Wago Club, Hawks Club, James A. Danner V.F.W. Post 537 in Etters, and was a lifelong member of Holy Infant Catholic Church. Mr. Krout proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII.

In addition to his wife, Ramona, Thomas is survived by his son, Jeffrey Krout and his wife Connie of York Haven; his daughters, Cynthia Owad and her husband John of Mount Wolf, Andrea Loughlin and her husband Brian of Loganville; his grandchildren, Jarrod Krout, Thomas Owad and his wife Emily, Margaret Staub and her husband Jason, Allison Bray and her husband Ryan, Nicholas Owad and his wife Liana, Ian Loughlin, Colin Loughlin, and Caroline Loughlin, and his great-grandsons, Patrick, Finn and Connelly Staub, and his brother, James Krout of New Cumberland. Thomas was preceded in death by his grandson, Conner Loughlin, his brothers, Morgan Krout, Francis Krout and Robert Krout, and his sisters, Gertrude Zarnowski, Ruth Himes, and Jane Hengst.

A mass of Christian burial will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 31, 2018, at Holy Infant Catholic Church, at their new location, 535 Conewago Creek Road, Manchester. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery. Officiating at his service will be The Very Reverend William Forrey from Holy Infant Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf. York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside.
