Shirley Ann Orwig

YORK – Shirley Ann (Shue) Orwig, 85, of York, passed away, Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Manor Care Kingston Court in York.  She was the wife of the late Evans M. Orwig who passed away, June 28, 1992.

Mrs. Orwig was born July 11, 1938, in Red Lion, PA, and was the daughter of the late John and Mabel (Holtzapple) Shue. 

She was a loving homemaker and mother to her family.  She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles in her spare time. 

Mrs. Orwig is survived by her daughters, LeeAnn M. Orwig of York, and Amy S. Jones of York, PA; her son, Ricky E. Orwig of Cross Fork, PA; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; her brother, James Shue and his wife Joie of York, and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Shue of East Berlin.  Mrs. Orwig was preceded in death by her grandson, Trent Jones, her sisters, Virginia May, Betty Frey and her husband Robert, and Brenda Murphy and her husband Stephen, and her brother, Kenneth Shue.

Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Her visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.  Her burial will be in St. John Sadlers Cemetery in Stewartstown, PA.
