Anna L. Livingston
YORK - Anna "Vera" LaVera (Hilliar) Livingston, 88, of York, formerly of York Haven, passed away at 10:37 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Glenn M. Livingston, of York, whom she married 67 years ago on October 8, 1944.
Vera was born June 10, 1923 in Columbia, Pa. and was the daughter of the late John and Daisy (Wright) Hilliar.
She graduated from Columbia High School in 1940. She worked as a postal clerk for the United States Post Office for over 25 years before retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Susquehanna Fire Company in York Haven and the former St. Paul Lutheran Church in York Haven.
In addition to her husband Glenn, Vera is survived by her son Glenn M. Livingston, Jr., of York, her grandson Jeremiah of MI; her 2 great grandchildren, Anna and Joshua; and her sister Jennie Flay of York. Mrs. Livingston was preceded in death by her sisters, and brothers.
Her funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, Pa. Viewing will be from 9:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery in Manchester. Officiating at the service will be her former pastor The Reverend Dr. Edmund Miller.
