Darick C. Gundy

YORK – Darick C. Gundy, 72, of York, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home in York. He was the husband of Donna (Lind) Gundy who he married 13 years ago on October 17, 2008.

Darick was born April 10, 1950, in York and was a son of the late Gordon and Lauretta (Beshore) Gundy. 

He graduated in 1968, from Central High School in York and attended University of Pittsburgh. He was employed by Garrod Hydraulics of York for 20 years before retiring in 2013. He attended Church of the Open Door in York. Darick was an avid aviation enthusiast, acquired his pilot’s license and built/flew a Sonex Aircraft.

In addition to his wife, Donna, Darick is survived by his sons, Matthew Gundy and his husband Jonathan of Lawrenceville, NJ and Erik Gundy and his wife, May of Manchester; his stepdaughters, Kimberly Burger and Reneé Allingham both of York; his granddaughter, Karley Burger and his grandson Elliot Gundy; his brother, G. Craig Gundy and his wife LeAnne of Herford, AZ.

A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June1, 2022, at Church of the Open Door, 8 Carlisle Court, York, PA. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be private. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Donald Wagner. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17601.
