YORK – Dorothy L. (Diehl) Horner, 98, of York, passed away, Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Misericordia Nursing Home in York. She was the wife of the late Lawrence O. Horner who passed away February 23, 2013, and to whom she was married for 71 years.

Mrs. Horner was born March 10, 1924, in Mount Wolf and was the daughter of the late Charles and Vergie (Sipe) Diehl.

She attended Saginaw Community Church in (Saginaw) Mount Wolf.  She was employed by Standard Register for seven years, after which she was a full-time homemaker.

Mrs. Horner is survived by her daughters, Kay Newport and her husband Terry of West Virginia and Rhonda Bredbenner of Abbottstown; her sons, David Horner, and Bryan Horner and his wife, Maureen both of York, and Darryl Horner of Spring Grove; four grandchildren, Troy, Jeremiah, Jamie and Christiana; five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Tim Horner and Charles Horner; her grandsons, Terry, Jr and Allen; her sisters, Fay Hess, Esther Brenneman and Jessica Dellinger and her brothers, Lee Diehl, and Kenneth Diehl.

Her funeral service and burial will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.  Officiating at the service will be Reverend Chuck Sprenkle.
