SYKESVILLE, MD - Linda R. (Richardson) Clifton, 69, of Sykesville, Md, formerly of New Cumberland, Pa passed away at 12:10 PM, Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Fairhaven Retirement Home in Sykesville, MD. She was the wife of William H. Clifton whom she married 47 years ago on July 17, 1971. Linda was born November 3, 1949 in Shelbyville, KY and was the daughter of the late Charles and Virginia (Metts) Richardson. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in Shelbyville, KY and later from HACC in Harrisburg. She was employed by Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg; Carlisle War College, Carlisle; the Harrisburg Area Community College Library and New Cumberland Public Library, New Cumberland. Linda was a member of the Newberrytown Church of God, Blue Mtn Sams Camping Club and the founder of the Central Pennsylvania Basket Weavers' Guild. In addition to her husband, William, Linda is survived by her two sons, William Clifton, II of Carlisle, and David Clifton and his wife Amanda of Ellicott City, MD; her grandchildren, Samuel, Nicholas, Logan and Kahlan and her brother, Keith Richardson of Waddy, KY. Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 PM, Friday November 30, 2018 at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Officiating at the service will be Pastor Jonathan Bowers.
