Ann Thompson Baum

YORK – Ann (Thompson) Baum, 88, of York, passed away, Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Country Meadows in York.  She was the wife of Paul H. Baum who she would have been married to for 65 years on June 28.

Ann was born May 10, 1934, in Cumberland, Maryland and was the daughter of the late R. Finley Thompson and the late Elizabeth (Brengle) Thompson.

She graduated in 1956, from James Madison University in Virginia. Mrs. Baum was an instrumental music teacher and taught for various school districts as a substitute and long-term substitute teacher for 32 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in York.

In addition to her husband, Paul, Ann is survived by her daughter, Lynne McGinnis and her husband, Timothy of Dover, PA; her son, Eric Baum and his wife Kathy of Palmyra, PA, and her four grandchildren, Meghan, Tyler, Christien and Jordan.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Shaffer.

Her Memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, April 28, 2023, in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of York, 225 East Market Street, York, PA.  Visitation will be from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, Friday in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church of York. Officiating at the service will be her pastor, Reverend C. Kyle Gott. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens at First Presbyterian Church of York.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
