Atlee C. Hoover

YORK HAVEN – Atlee Charles Hoover, 94, of York Haven, PA, passed away, Friday, August 21, 2026, at Dallastown Nursing Center in Dallastown, PA.  He was the husband of the late Shirley (Clemens) Hoover to whom he was married for 70 years.

Atlee was born September 25, 1931, in Cly, PA and was the son of the late Roy and Miriam (Toomey) Hoover.

He was employed for over 40 years at Bernhaven Sewing Factory in Mount Wolf and York Haven, PA. He was a member of the Starview Rod and Gun Club; a member for 55 plus years of the Susquehanna Fire Company, 28 years of which he acted as Fire Chief.  He was also a lifetime member of the Running Pines Hunting Club in Lycoming County, and he attended St. Paul United Methodist Church in Manchester, PA.

Atlee is survived by his sister, Maxine Kauffman, brother, Leland Hoover and several nieces and nephews.    

His funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA.  His viewing will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.  His burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.  Officiating at his service will be John Clemens.
