YORK – Barbara Ann (Shermeyer) Miller, 73, of York, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at her home.  She was the wife of Barry Miller who she married 48 years ago on April 8, 1972 at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Emigsville.

Barbara was born April 12, 1947, in York and was the daughter of the late Russell and Verna (Kindig) Shermeyer.

In 1965 she graduated from Central High School in York.  She graduated from Shippensburg University with a master’s degree in Elementary Education and was employed at Central York School District for 35 years before retiring in 2005.  She was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Emigsville and served in various positions from Sunday School teacher, Youth Group Leader, Social Committee, Landscaping and any events which were supporting the ministry of St. Mark.   She enjoyed both vegetable and flower gardening and flower arrangements for both home and church and especially enjoyed her many camping trips on the east coast with her family.

In addition to her husband, Barry, Barbara is survived by her daughter, Kelly Lynn Miller of York; her son, Christopher Justin Miller and his wife Joyce of York and her two grandsons, Alexander Barry Miller and Jonathan Joseph Miller.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be Mount Zion Cemetery.  Officiating at the service will be her pastor Reverend Cynthia Baxter.
