MOUNT WOLF – Betty Jane (Kohr) Strayer, 91, of Mount Wolf, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at her home.  A long awaited journey has come to our mother.  She is with her Lord and Savior now.  Praise God!  She was the wife of the late Robert G. Strayer who passed away February 16, 2003.

Betty Jane was born April 9, 1930, in Mount Wolf and was the daughter of the late Sylvester Kohr, Sr. and Mabel (Craft) Kohr.

She attended Manchester High School in Manchester.  Betty was a member of the PTA, Aglow, Brownie Troup Teacher and Sunday School Teacher and was also a member of First Assembly of God in York.

Betty Jane is survived by her daughters, Tanya Liek and her husband Wayne of Mount Wolf and Carla Ness and her husband Greg of Emigsville; 2 grandsons, 2 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons and her brother, Sylvester “Sonny” Kohr, Jr. of Big Pine Key West, FL.  She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Elizabeth Kohr, Doris Jean Zile and Fairy Mae Kline.

Her graveside service will begin at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York.   Officiating at her service will be Reverend Donald Belch.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
