Betty E. Witmer

MANCHESTER – Betty Elizabeth (Schlag) Witmer, 92 of Manchester, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.  She was the wife of the late Elwood Witmer who passed away on July 20, 2005.

Betty was born February 23, 1930, in Hellam, PA and was the daughter of the late Charles and Alma (Tompkins) Schlag.

She graduated in 1948 from William Penn High School in York.  She helped her husband with his antique business.   She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf.

Betty is survived by her daughter Virginia Crump and her husband Robert of Manchester; her stepdaughter, Judith Parrish of Elizabethtown; 1 granddaughter, five step-grandchildren, one great grandson, nine step-great-grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren.  Betty was preceded in death by her sisters, Olivia Kauffman and Miriam Ross and her stepbrother, Curvin Thompson.

Funeral services and burial for Betty will be private.  Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
