Byron W. Ginter

SPRING GROVE – Byron W. Ginter, 75 of Spring Grove, PA passed Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at his home in Spring Grove.  He was the husband of Janet (Gladfelter) Ginter whom he married 51 years ago on August 30, 1975.

Byron was born September 12, 1950 in Hanover, PA and was the son of the late Albert Ginter, Sr., and Arlene (Shue) Ginter.

He graduated in 1969 from Spring Grove Senior High School in Spring Grove, PA and furthered his education by learning his trade of welding from York Vo-Tech.  He was employed by the former Allis Chalmers, now Voith Hydro, in York, PA for over 40 years.  He was a member of the Spring Grove V.F.W. Post 5265, the local IAM Union and St. Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church in York New Salem, PA.

In addition to his wife, Janet is survived by his son, Joshua Ginter and his wife, Jessica of West York, PA, his daughters, Melanie Ramer and her husband Chad of Dover, PA, and Beth Paul of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren, his brother, Albert Ginter, Jr of Spring Grove and his sister, Shelia Bollinger of Hanover, PA.

His memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM, Friday, June 5, 2026 at St. Jacobs Lutheran Church, 99 East George Street, York New Salem, PA.  His visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Friday at the church.  His burial will be private.  Officiating at his service will be Reverend Aaron Cope.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf, PA.
