Carmen L. Pizarro
LANCASTER – Carmen L. (Aponte) Pizarro, 80, of Lancaster, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Lancaster Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lancaster. She was the wife of the late Cosme C. Pizarro who passed away on March 7, 2023.
Mrs. Pizarro was born April 6, 1943, in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and was the daughter of the late Francisco Aponte, Sr.
Her first and foremost important job was being a mother and homemaker for her family. She was employed by Shick, and Carter's baby clothes. Mrs. Pizarro is survived by her daughter, Lillian Aviles and her husband Arthur of Lancaster, her sons, Richard Pizarro and his wife Raquel of Lancaster and Dixon Pizarro-Lampam and his husband Todd of Jackson, MI; five grandchildren, and her brother, Francisco Aponte. Jr. of New York. She was preceded in death by her grandson Nicholas A. Shenk-Pizarro and her brother Israel Aponte.
A viewing for Mrs. Pizarro will be from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Melanie Scheid Funeral Home, 317 East Orange Street, Lancaster, PA. Her burial will be private in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Lancaster, PA. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
