Carol L. Lawhead

CHANDLER, AZ – Carol L. (Gladfelter) Lawhead, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, in Chandler, Arizona.

She was born on January 14, 1947, in York, PA and was the daughter of the late John and Marcella Gladfelter.

Carol attended Northeastern High School in Manchester, PA, graduating in 1964.  Shortly after graduation, she moved to California where she worked several jobs, one of which was at Knotts Berry Farm.  Later she moved to Tempe Arizona where she worked for the Salt River Project for several years before retiring.  Carol shared her heart and love for animals.  

Carol was a fun loving and caring person.  She could make people laugh with her funny stories.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Kristi Lawhead of Arizona; her brother, John Gladfelter; her sisters, Judy Kann, Jill Gladfelter and Claudia Schaeffer, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Barry Gladfelter.

A celebration of Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  Her burial was private.
