YORK HAVEN - Carol A. Shorts, 77, of York Haven passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York.

Carol was born April 19, 1945, in York County. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. Grossman and Helen J. (Shenck) Bates.

Carol attended Central Dauphin and Cedar Cliff High School.

Carol was the widow of the late John C. Shorts Sr. and is survived by her three children, Barbara Shorts and her fiancée Daniel Bange of Mt. Wolf, John Shorts and his wife Carla of Dover, Brian Shorts and his wife Krista of York; five grandchildren, Danielle Bange, Kameron, Brooke, Miley and Madden Shorts; two great grandchildren, Beckett and Brynlee Schuler; two brothers, James Grossman and Michael Geissinger; two sisters, Helen Ilyes and Linda Melhorn. She was preceded in death by her sister, Judy Brown and her brother, Terry Volovski.

Carol was full of life and love for her family and spent her retirement years visiting those she loved, making beautiful memories that will forever be in the hearts of those that loved her. The love she had for her family couldn’t have shined any brighter and she’ll be dearly missed by all.

The family will hold a private service to celebrate her life.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
