Charles Ronald Watkins
YORK – Charles Ronald Watkins, 85, of York, formerly from Shrewsbury, PA, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra J. (Dively) Watkins whom he married 64 years ago on May 4, 1957.
Mr. Watkins was born June 5, 1936, in Bradenville, PA and was the son of the late Charles J. and Viola M. (Stauffer) Watkins.
He retired as a Linguist for the United States Government.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Watkins is survived by his sons, Michael Watkins of Harrisburg, Steven Watkins and his wife, Tish of Elizabeth, WV and Douglas Watkins of Mount Wolf; his daughter, Kimberly Chapman of Glen Rock; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, and 2 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Courtney Watkins.
A graveside service for Mr. Watkins will begin at 1:30 PM, Friday, April 1, 2022, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Officiating at his service will be Pastor Ken Brookens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
