Clair F. Kendig
MANCHESTER – Clair F. Kendig, 82, of Manchester, passed away at 7:10 AM, Saturday, January 9, 2021 at his home in Manchester. He was the husband of Pat (Weirich) Kendig who he married 56 years ago on July 11, 1964.
Clair was born February 1, 1938 in Manchester and was the son of the late Charles Kendig and Irene (Mayar) Lyon and the step-son of the late George Lyon.
He graduated in 1956 from Central High School in York. He was employed by Fidelity Electrical Company, Gettle Inc of York and International Paper Company in York Haven. He was a member of the Northeastern Senior Center in Mount Wolf and the White Rose Square Dancers. Clair attended Mount Wolf Community Church in Mount Wolf. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 4 years.
In addition to his wife, Pat, Clair is survived by his daughter, Vicki Krout and her husband Michael of Dover; 2 grandchildren, Hannah Shellenberger and her husband Billy of Dover and Emily Krout of York and his great granddaughter, Sadie Shellenberger. Clair was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed very much.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be Chaplin Tim George from Caring Hospice Services. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
