Clarence D. Hare
YORK – Clarence Daniel Hare, 91, of York, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2020 at his home. He was the husband of Mary E. (Repman) Hare.
Mr. Hare was born April 16, 1929 in York and was the son of the late Harry and Beulah (Brenner) Hare.
He was employed as a meat cutter by Food Fair Stores for over 32 years, drove bus for 16 years with the Central School District in York and was employed by PADE for 10 years. He was a member of the Hawks Club; Prince Club; loved camping and was a member of the Shasta Camping club for 25 years; enjoyed fishing at Indian River in Delaware; loved watching ball games and NASCAR Racing and owned his own race car in the 1950’s and was a member of Quickel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Above all Mr. Hare enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mary, Mr. Hare is survived by his son, Richard Hare and his wife Vicki of York; his grandchildren, Michelle Stinson and her husband Neil and Kevin Hare and his wife Yvonne; his 5 great grandchildren, Zachary Hare, Sophia Stinson, Claire Stinson, Anya Stinson and Alex Stinson and his brother, James Hare of York. Mr. Hare was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Hare and Larry Hare and his sisters, Edith Wilt and Gladys Sipe.
A private funeral service for Mr. Hare will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Officiating at his service will be his pastor Reverend Roy Stetler. A Celebration of Life service will be held later in 2021.
