Constance E. Meiler

YORK – Constance E. (Hess) Meiler, 89, of York, passed away, Thursday, August 1, 2024, at her home in York.  She was the wife of the late Herman Meiler.

Connie was born September 5, 1934, in York and was the daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Shue) Hess.

She graduated in 1952 from William Penn Senior High School in York.  She was employed as an arbitrator for the Unemployment Office of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.  She was a member of Oberbayern Dance Group, the Glades Farm Women, and Valley View Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Hellam.

She is survived by her daughters, Christie Meiler of York, Julie Lacontora-Mikell, and her husband Ron Mikell of York, and Karen Keeney of York; six grandchildren, Patty, Sarah, Tony, Richard, Kaleigh, and Kenzy; two great grandchildren, Hayley, and Selah; her sister, Barbara Hess of Fort Myers, FL, and Neil Hess and his wife Dawn of York, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sons, Jon Meiler and Larry Meiler.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00AM, Friday, August 9, 2024, at Valley View Alliance Church, 200 Alliance Avenue, Hellam, PA, her viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Friday at the church.  Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in York, Pastor Lee Nanfelt officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
