Dale Gene Harman
YORK – Dale Gene Harman, 86, of York, passed away, Sunday, June 12, 2022, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Beverly Ann (Bruaw) Harman who he married 64 years ago on October 19, 1957.
Mr. Harman was born April 3, 1936, in York and was the son of the late Harold and Anna (Roth) Harman.
He graduated in 1954 from William Penn High School in York. He was employed for 35 years with Teledyne McKay of York before retiring 1993. Later, Mr. Harman worked for Penn Air and Hydraulics of York for over 20 years before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Hawks Club, Scout Master in the 60’s and 70’s with Pack #62 and volunteered at Strand Capital Performing Arts Center in York. He was a member of Pleasureville United Methodist Church for over 60 years where he was a choir member, Treasurer and Trustee and head of the children’s department for 20 years. Mr. Harman served in the United States Naval Reserves for 8 years.
In addition to his wife, Beverly, Dale is survived by his son, Jeffrey E. Harman and his wife Tiffany of Satellite Beach, FL his daughter-in-law, Roxanne (Rode) Harman; three grandchildren, Tyler and his wife Abby, and Madison and Abigail; one great granddaughter, Emma; his brother, John Harman of York; his sisters, Carole Heberlig and her husband Frank of DE and Barbara Bortner and her husband Galen of Spring Grove, PA and his brother-in-law, Ronald Keister. Dale was preceded in death by his son, Joel E. Harman; his brother, Gerry Harman and his sister, Patricia Keister.
Mr. Harman’s funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Pleasureville United Methodist Church, 2606 North Sherman Street, York, PA. Viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Ronald Sussex. The York County Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors at the graveside. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
