Dennis Lee Bates
DOVER – Dennis Lee Bates, 69 of Dover, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York. He was the companion of Diane Hoke.
Dennis was born February 4, 1955, in Los Angles, California and was the son of the late William Devon Bates and Viola Louise (Stroud) Bates.
He graduated in 1974 from Mount Baker high School in Deming, Washington. He was employed as a welder for ship building. He was a member of the Shiloh American Legion Post # 791 in York. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his companion, Diane, Dennis is survived by his daughter Kelly Heineman and her husband Richard, four grandchildren, William, Holly, Adalyn, and Abigail, his brothers, William Bates and Steve Pierce, and his sisters, Judith Nelson, Jeannie Gates, and Patricia Pride. Dennis was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Diane Bates and his sister, Sandra Pomroy.
Funeral services and burial for Dennis will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
