Doris J. Gembe

YORK – Doris J. (Rudacille) Gembe, 74, of York, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York.  She was the wife of George Gembe to whom she was married  to for 55 years.

Doris was born January 11, 1947 in York and was the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret (Anderson) Rudacille.

She graduated in 1964 from Dover High School in Dover.  She was employed by the Dover Area School District before retiring in 2002.  She volunteered for the York County Area Agency on Aging and was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Emigsville.  Doris was a singing member of the Gospel group “Sounds of Hope” in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

In addition to her husband, George, Doris is survived by her daughters, Tiffany Schaefer and her husband Todd of York and Tammy Wagman and her companion, Jeffrey Henry of Red Lion; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandsons and her brother, Charles Rudacille of Etters.

Funeral services and burial for Doris will be private.  Officiating at her service will be Reverend Richard Bowers.  Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
