Dorothy P. Mohr
MOUNT WOLF – Dorothy P. (Sprenkle) Mohr, 103, of Mount Wolf, passed away, Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home in Mount Wolf. She was married to the late Henry J. Mohr, Sr., who passed away, July 24, 2011. They were married 69 years.
Dorothy was born March 25, 1921, in Lower Chanceford Township, York County, PA. She was the daughter of the late C. Walter and Mary (Posey) Sprenkle.
Dorothy and her husband traveled extensively to Australia, China, and Switzerland as well as throughout the United States.
She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children, bowling in a local league, and playing cards with siblings and in several card clubs. Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Dorothy was an eternal optimist believing only the good in people and the best of any situation.
She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf, Lutheran Church Women, former member of the Eastern Start and a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Deborah Myers, Pamela Fogle and her husband Ray, Christine Grimm and her husband Randy, and her son, Henry J. Mohr, Jr. She is survived by eight grandchildren, Shelly Centini and her husband Tony, Michael Pugh and his companion Tammy Ensor, Keith Myers and his wife Wendi, Leslie Pressel and her husband David, Kelly Ort, Melissa Witmer, Matthew Wilson and his wife Teresa, and Scott Wilson, plus two step-grandchildren, Keith Orendorf Jr. and his wife Kelly, and Casey Jarrett and her husband Kevin. Dorothy leaves 16 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren with one on the way.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Orendorf, wife of Keith Orendorf, her sister, Norma Wise and her husband Robert, and her brothers, Earl Sprenkle and wife Lois, Carl Sprenkle, Dale Sprenkle and his wife Mamie, and Bruce Sprenkle and his wife Virginia.
Her graveside service will be private at Mount Rose Cemetery in York. Officiating at her service will be her pastor Reverend Jason Northridge. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
