Eugene David Stover
YORK – Eugene David Stover, 81, of York, passed away, Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Pleasant Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the loving companion to Virginia L. Bean.
Eugene was born January 4, 1941, in York and was the son of the late John and Henrietta (King) Stover.
He graduated in 1958 from Manchester High School in Manchester. He was employed as a truck driver by Mason Dixon and following their closing he was employed by Consolidated Freightways for 20 years before retiring in 2002. He was also a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Quickel Lutheran Church in York.
In addition to his companion, Virginia, Eugene is survived by his daughter, Robin Hedrick of Lancaster and his sisters, Linda Swartz of Spring Grove, Janet Deardorf of Fayettville, PA and Geraldine Snell of Dover. He was preceded in death by his infant son, Todd Stover, his son, Eugene Stover, Jr, his brother, Richard Stover and his sister Phyllis Stambaugh
His funeral service will begin at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Viewing will be from 1:30 to 2:30 Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Quickel Cemetery. Officiating at his service will be Pastor Dave Dixon.
