MOUNT WOLF- Evelyn Mae (Gingerich) Kibler, formerly of Mount Wolf, passed away peacefully at the age of 98, July 27, 2026, at Normandie Ridge. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Kibler who passed away March 2016. Evelyn and Bob married on May 21, 1955. They built their family home in the Forge Hill Woods area of Mt. Wolf until moving to Normandie Ridge in 2015.
Born February 20, 1928, in Starview, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Susie (King) Gingerich. Evelyn was a graduate of Manchester High School in 1946. She worked at York Bank, The Credit Bureau of York and Drovers Bank. Evelyn was a faithful member of The Episcopal Church of St. John the Baptist in York. She was a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary, and lifetime members of The Women’s Club of York and The Garden Club of York. Evelyn always had a passion for gardening and flowering plants. Many of Evelyn’s days at her home in Mt. Wolf were spent in her beautiful gardens. Evelyn made friends everywhere she went and loved spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her two sons, Kim R Kibler and his wife Jo of York; Scott Kibler residing in Germany; two grandchildren, Nathan Kibler and his wife Morgan of Lancaster and Jessica Melhorn Warns of Mt. Wolf. Two great-granddaughters, Cassidy Warns and Eden Kibler, a nephew Ronald Gingerich and niece Susan Gingerich Barshinger. She was preceded in death by her sister Mary Rohler, brother Glenn Gingerich and niece Kay Rohler Herrman.
The family would like to thank the staff at Normandie Ridge, all of Evelyn’s caregivers and Life Song Hospice for all their care over the past few months.
Services will be held Thursday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Episcopal Church, 140 N Beaver St., York. Burial will be alongside her husband in Lloyd Memorial Gardens. A reception and visitation will follow the service in the church parish hall. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
