YORK – Frances Hilda (Van Natter) Shelley, 92, of York, passed away, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at her home in York.  She was the wife of the late John Shelley who passed away in 1969.

Mrs. Shelley was born May 8, 1932, in York and was the daughter of the late Paul and Romaine (Garver) Van Natter.

She graduated in 1950 from William Penn High School in York.  Mrs. Shelley spent her years in retail as a manager for various dress shops in the York area.  She was a member of the First Moravian Church in York.

Mrs. Shelly is survived by her five daughters, Patricia Krout of York, PA, Beth Holler and her husband, Craig of Mount Wolf, PA, Sheryl Fair and her husband, Jack of York, PA, Susan Kopp and her husband, Kenneth, of VA and Christine Morgan of York, PA, ten grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.  Mrs. Shelley was preceded in death by her great grandson, Nathan Lauer, and her sisters, June Billett, Virginia Thieme, Margaret Dinges and Helen Sackett.

Her funeral service and burial will be private.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
