George H. Anthony
YORK – George H. Anthony, 67, of York, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA. He was the partner of Adam Torres.
George was born August 9, 1953 in York and was the son of the late George W. and Beulah I. (Sentz) Anthony.
In 1972 he graduated from Spring Grove High School and later attended Germain Institute of Photography in New York. He proudly served the Susquehanna Commerce Center as Building Superintendent until retiring in 2014. George had a love of history and spent many years as an avid Civil War Reenactor, sharing his passion of history and photography with others.
In addition to his partner, Adam, George is survived by his daughter, Megan Heberling and her husband James of York; his grandson, Lincoln Heberling; his brother, Kenneth Forry and his wife Joanne of York; his sister, Janet Langeheine of York; his lifelong best friend, Ann (Shimmel) Ginnett and sister-in-laws, Mary Ann Forry and Phyllis Forry. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Forry, William Forry, Donald Forry, Fred Anthony.
His funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Gettysburg, PA. Officiating at the service will be Reverend Yvette Davis.
