Ginger Mae Hoffman

MECHANICSBURG - Ginger Mae (Benedick) Hoffman, 82 of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away, Monday, December 8, 2025, at Penn State Hampton Medical Center in Enola, PA.  She was the wife of the late Edward E. “Ed” Hoffman who passed on August 17, 2012.

Ginger was born May 28, 1943, in Saginaw, East Manchester Township, York County, PA and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mae (Gingerich) Benedick.

She graduated in 1962 from Northeastern Senior High School in Manchester, PA.  She was employed for 23 years with the Mechanicsburg Area School District.  Ginger enjoyed card clubs, aquatic exercise class, special Olympics, taught swimming lessons with the Red Cross, camping trips, and going to the racetrack and watching her son Doug race.  She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg, PA.

Ginger is survived by her daughter, Diane Hoffman of Mechanicsburg, her sons, David Hoffman and his wife Leah of Mechanicsburg, and Doug Hoffman and his wife Jessi of Newville, PA; ten grandchildren, Dustin, Arielle, Jennifer, Cody, Ashley, Katrina, Katelyn, Haley, Doug, Jr. and E.J.; ten great grandchildren, Kameron, Lily, Astrid, Sylvia, Mya, Adriana, Shaina, Bella, Chase, and Jackson; her sister, Kay Hunt; her brothers, Dale Benedick and Ray Benedick and his wife Rose.

Her funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Diehl Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA.  Her viewing will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Saturday at the funeral home.  Her burial will be in Manchester Union Cemetery in Manchester, PA.  Officiating at her service will be her pastor, Reverend David Carter.
