YORK HAVEN - Glenda Diane Ruppert, 68, of Manchester passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at York Hospital on January 4, 2024, after fighting a strong battle with pancreatic cancer. Born February 9, 1955, in York, PA Glenda was the daughter of Glen and Mary Brillhart. She is the wife of John Ruppert, whom she was married to for 39 and a half years.
Glenda was a beautiful soul with a big heart. She loved her family more than anything in this world. She was an avid animal lover who adored her dogs, Chatan and Inola, who she referred to as her children. She loved to cook and bake. She was never afraid to try new recipes and anything she cooked never disappointed! She was very interested in her Native American background and enjoyed loom beading.
In addition to her husband John, Glenda is survived by her mother, Mary Brillhart of Mount Wolf; a daughter, Tammy Hollinger, and her partner Ty Barnett of Dover; a granddaughter, Kayla Hollinger and her partner Justin Drawbaugh of Wellsville; and 2 great-granddaughters, Emma Drawbaugh and Ella Drawbaugh of Wellsville.
She was preceded in death by her aunt, June Messersmith. Glenda will always be remembered for her long blonde braided ponytail, the way that she loved animals, and how much she adored her family. We couldn’t have asked for a better daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and we will miss her every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Glenda’s funeral service will begin at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. Her viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home. Her burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Officiating at her service will be Reverend James E. Winter, Sr.
