Glenn E. Holtzapple
YORK – Glenn E. Holtzapple, 93, of York, passed away, Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Lebanon VA Hospital in Lebanon, PA. He was the husband of the late Nancy A. (Diehl) Holtzapple, whom he had been married to for 60 years.
Mr. Holtzapple was born November 19, 1930, in York and was the son of the late Harry and Margaret (Zinn) Holtzapple.
He was employed by Cole Steel in York, PA. as a forklift operator for many years. He was a member of the Lincoln Way Rod and Gun Club, Starview Sportsmen’s Association, West York V.F.W. Post #8951, American Legion in Red Lion, Delphia Club, and Pleasureville Christian Church. He was a former member of Hawks Club, and the Viking Club. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War where he received two purple hearts.
Mr. Holtzapple is survived by his son Bradley Holtzapple and his wife Raili of New Freedom, PA; his daughter, Roxanne Bell, and her husband Dennis of York; five grandchildren, Duane and his husband, Scott, Heather and her husband Robert, Brandon and his partner, Terrance, Skylar, and Hunter and his partner, Alicia; great grandchildren, Cody and his wife, Myranda, and Ashlyn, and nieces and nephews. Mr. Holtzapple was preceded in death by his brother, James Richard Holtzapple, and his sister, Evelyn Bowser.
His funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2024, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. His viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home. His burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in York. Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
