SAGINAW – Gloria A. (Flickinger) Stewart, 78, of (Saginaw) Mount Wolf, passed away, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Red Lion.  She was the wife of Michael R. Stewart who she married 26 years ago on August 25, 1997.

Mrs. Stewart was born June 9, 1945, in McSherrystown, Adams County, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Russell and Bernadette (Wallach) Flickinger.

In 1963 she graduated from Delone Catholic High School in McSherrystown, PA.  Following high school, Mrs. Stewart graduated from Carlisle School of Nursing in 1964 and had over 40 years of nursing with Memorial Osteopathic Hospital in York.  She was a member of the Central Pennsylvania Square Dance Callers Association (CPDCA), White Rose Polka Dancers, Northeastern Senior Center in Mount Wolf, and Windy Hill Senior Center in Spring Grove.

She was an outstanding swing and ballroom dancer who danced at Naylor’s Winery and Penmar Park as well as various other places throughout Central Pennsylvania and Northern Maryland.  She loved to travel and has been to all 50 states and 5 foreign countries.

In addition to her husband, Michael, Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Melissa Geiselman, and her husband Mark of Red Lion; her son, Raymond Myers, and his wife Melissa of Red Lion; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and her brothers, Wayne Flickinger, and Russell Flickinger both of Hanover.

Services for Mrs. Stewart will begin at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 23, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  Her viewing will be from 12:30 to 2:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.  Her burial will take place in Hoovers, Cemetery, (Starview) Mount Wolf.   Officiating at her service will be Reverend Dr. Mary Ligon.
