Harold L. Koller

YORK – Harold L. Koller, 88, of York, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021, at Manor Care North in York.  He was the husband of Nellie Mae (Gladfelter) Koller who he married 70 years ago on August 11, 1951.

Harold was born January 12, 1933, in Jacobus, PA and was the son of the late Percy L. and Annie M. (Grothey) Koller.

He was employed by ESAB, formerly Alloy Rods, Inc. for over 46 years before retiring in 1998.  He also worked for Pottery Hill Mobile, Lewis Exxon, Brenneman’s Flying “A” and Ness Exxon.  His hobbies included Lionel Trains, and John Deere Tractors.  He was a member of the Train Collectors Association and St. Jacobs Evangelical Lutheran Church in York New Salem.   Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, Nellie Mae, Harold is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Koller and his wife, Cathy of York, PA and Randy Koller and his wife, Sue of York Springs, PA; two grandchildren, Angela Koller and Lindsay Rae (Koller) Rupp and her husband Matthew, and his great granddaughter, Sarah Dream Manning.   He was preceded in death by his brother, Sherman Koller.

Harold’s funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 16, 2021, at St. Jacob’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 99 East George Street, York New Salem.  Viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Thursday at the church.  Burial will be in St. Jacob’s Union Cemetery in York New Salem.  Officiating at the service will be his pastor Reverend Lisa Hair.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, of Mount Wolf.  Full military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
