Harold D. Murphy

YORK - Harold D. Murphy, 94, of York, passed away, Thursday, May 25, 2023, at York Hospital.  He was the husband of the late Ethel R. (Silk) Murphy who passed away, November 5, 2017.

Mr. Murphy was born October 12, 1928, in Mount Wolf, East Manchester Township, and was the son of the late Fred and Anna (Kohr) Murphy.

He was employed for 24 years by Lyon Metal Products in Red Lion, PA, before retiring in 1983; 10 years with Stanley Tools before retiring in 1996, and 14 years with American Wire Fabrics.  He served in the U. S. Army for three years.  He was a dedicated member of Zion Bible Church in York.

Harold is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles "Bud", Stanley, Frederick, and Leon "Pete", and his sisters, Almena Morthland, Anna "Dolly" Heilman, Delores Beshore, and Viola Fritz.

The funeral services for Harold will begin at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf.  His viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, Wednesday, at the funeral home.  His burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery, York at noon.  Officiating at his service will be his nephew, Pastor Ron Knopp and Elder Bruce Lehman.
