Harold “Ike” B. Lowe

MOUNT WOLF – Harold “Ike” Bruce Lowe, 98, of Mount Wolf, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Normandie Ridge in York.  He was the husband of the late Colleen H. (Bixler) Lowe who passed away on May 17, 2006.

Ike was born November 1, 1922, in Winterstown and was the son of the late Joe and Emma (Keeney) Lowe.

He graduated from Manchester High School in 1940, and proudly served his country in the amphibious forces of the United States Navy during WWII.  He was employed at the Naval Depot in Mechanicsburg, PA.   He was a life member of the Susquehanna Lions Club, their oldest member and past president and active in many community activities.

Friends and family will remember Ike as an avid dancer and pool party host who even at 98 remained young at heart.  Ike enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle until he was 90 years old.  He was known to many for his ownership of Meadowbrook Swim Club in Saginaw and his love of landscaping and horticulture which is evident at his home.

Ike is survived by his sons, Randy Lowe and his wife Cheryl of Mount Wolf, Kelly Lowe and his wife Jolette of Mount Wolf; his daughter, Jill Schaffner and her husband Craig of Mount Wolf; 2 grandchildren, Samantha and Brandon.  Harold was preceded in death by his brother, Keith Lowe and his sisters, Odessa Benyak and Evelyn Stoppard.

Graveside services will be private in Manchester Union Cemetery in Manchester, PA.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
