Harry R. Cunningham

YORK- It is with sad hearts, that we announce that Harry R. Cunningham, 85, of York, passed away, Monday, November 3, 2025, at Rest Haven in York. He was the husband of Gail L. (Redding) Cunningham whom he married 52 Years ago on January 12, 1973.

Harry was born June 26, 1940, in York and was the son of the late, Harry Roman Dise who passed away before he was born, and the late Catherine Cunningham.

He graduated York High in 1958. He was employed by Buchart Horn, McCrory's, GAP, and later retired in 2001 from Bon-Ton Corporation. He and his wife were avid travelers. Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, Gail, Harry is survived by his son, Richard Cunningham; his step-daughter, Kelly Rhoads; his brother, Ron Sterner and his wife Deb; his sisters, Judi Snyder and her husband Larry, Mary Neiman and her husband Lonny, Bev Amick and her husband Bob, Sharon Burk, and Deb Miller and her husband Steve; two grandchildren, Eric and Kristen; two great grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Kathy Ilgenfritz. He was proceeded in death by his brother, Kenny Ilgenfritz, and his brother-in-law, Dick Burk.

A funeral service for Harry will begin at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf, PA. His viewing will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, at the funeral home. His burial will be in Strinestown Cemetery. Officiating at his service will be Reverend Richard Hair. Military honors will be provided by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the graveside at Strinestown Cemetery.
