Helen Stonesifer Obituary

Helen A. Stonesifer

MANCHESTER - Helen A. (Crone) Stonesifer was called home to the Lord on September 6, 2021, to be with her beloved husband Donald Stonesifer and their son Brian. Helen and Donald were married 63 years at the time of his passing.  She was born on April 22, 1926, to Wilson and Bessie (Ruppert) Crone as one of 14 children.  After helping her parents to care for her younger siblings, and working on the family farm, Helen took her first job at the age of 15 as a seamstress. She worked at several sewing factories in York throughout her career and later retired from Bern Haven Sewing Factory in Mt. Wolf, PA.

Helen cared for everyone she came in contact with but, the love for her family was above all others. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who would put the needs of others before her own. The stories she shared about her life will be cherished forever. As we are greatly saddened by her passing, we are grateful for the wonderful years she spent making a difference in everyone’s lives with her genuine kindness and love.

She is survived by her daughter Donetta Landis, her son-in-law Mike, sisters Viola Kroft and Aneta Lefever, brother Richard Crone, grandsons Kreg and his wife Annette, Michael and his wife Marlo, great grandchildren Krysten, Alexander, Evan, Marc and Hollie and 2 great great-grandsons. Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Albert, Stewart, Ralph, Edward, Bruce, John and sisters Pauline Stiles, Alverta Hostetter, Ruth Anne Smith and Judy Howard.

Private family graveside services will be held at Manchester Lutheran Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home and Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.

Our family extends its deepest love and gratitude to the staff of Pleasant Acres for their devoted love and care of Helen. A special thank you also goes to Laura Stein, Compassus, and the staff of the therapy department.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105, or to Roots For Boots, P.O. Box 218, New Oxford PA 17350.
