James A. Hare

YORK – James A. Hare, 87, of York, also of Selinsgrove, passed away at 3:28 PM, Friday, February 26, 2021 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in York.  He was the lifelong partner of the late Marvin Lauver.

James was born January 1, 1934 in York and was the son of the late Harry and Buelah (Brenner) Hare.

He graduated in 1952 from Manchester High School in Manchester.   He owned and operated Ulrich’s Seafood Market in Selinsgrove for 25 years before retiring in 2011.  He was a member of the Hawks Club and Quickel Lutheran Church both of York.

James is survived by his nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy Hare, Clarence “Sonny” Hare and Larry “Butch” Hare and his sisters, Edith Wilt and Gladys Sipe.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to his graveside service which will begin at 10:00 AM, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Shiloh Cemetery in York.  Officiating at the service will be Reverend Roy Stetler from Quickel Lutheran Church.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
