Jerry W. Knokey
MANCHESTER – Jerry W. Knokey, 72, of Manchester, passed away, Sunday, December 19, 2021, at his home in Manchester with is dog Missy at his side. He was the husband and companion of Susan (Alloway) Knokey for 48 years.
Jerry was born June 3, 1949, in York and is the son of the late William and Avis Mae (Wells) Knokey.
He attended Central High School in York. He was employed as a machine operator with Georgia Pacific in Mount Wolf, New York Wire Cloth in Mount Wolf and York Container Corporation in York. He was a member of the First Moravian Church in York, Hawks Club, Susquehanna V. F. W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf and a life member of the Starview Sportsmen's Association. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and fishing when he was not running his dump truck.
In addition to his wife, Susan, Jerry is survived by his stepdaughter, Chris Moul of York; two grandchildren, Tashaun Dennis and Jarron Cruz; his brother, Larry Knokey of Harrisburg and his sister, Bonnie Dietz and her husband Scott of York; four nieces and nephews, and eight great nieces and nephews.
At Jerry’s request services will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
