DOVER – JoAnn Wharton, 70, entered into rest on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at WellSpan York Hospital. 

Born April 18, 1951, in York, she was a daughter of the late Michael Wharton and Lois Jeanne (Barry) Wharton and step-daughter of the late Priscilla Wharton.

JoAnn graduated from Red Land High School in 1969 and worked as a real estate agent.
She loved nature and animals.  JoAnn also enjoyed gardening and cooking.  In fact, her food was always a culinary delight.

She is survived by five siblings, Michael Wharton and wife, Kay of Wellington, FL, Karen Nordaby of Lewiston, NY, Steven Wharton and wife, Beverly of York Haven, Donna Talley and husband, Brian of New Cumberland and Barry Wharton and wife, Kelly of Mechanicsburg; four nieces; two nephews; five great nieces; two great nephews; and dear friends, Tom and Sally Blizzard of Dillsburg.

Services for JoAnn will be private at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
