Joan E. Strine

YORK – Joan E. (Miller) Strine, died on December 15, 2021, at her residence at Normandie Ridge Nursing Center in York.  She was the wife of Edwin D. Strine whom she married 65 years ago on April 28, 1956.

Joan was born in Windsor Township on January 1, 1934 and was the daughter of the late J. Earle and Wilma (Mundis) Miller.

Mrs. Strine graduated from Manchester High School in 1952.  She was a member of the Northeastern Senior Center where she volunteered with her husband delivering meals on wheels and volunteered at the Blind Center of York County.  She was a member at Otterbein United Methodist Church in Mount Wolf for 72 years after joining in 1949. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Reverend Julie Sistek and her husband Ray of York; her son, Gregory Strine and his wife Selena of Greencastle, PA; and three grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler and Joshua.  Mrs. Strine was preceded in death by her brothers, Ross, Merle, Dean and Gary, and her sisters, Vera, Ruth, and Lois.

A memorial service for Joan will be held at a later date in early spring at a site to be determined.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Mount Wolf.
